Recycling parasols
MAY places particular value on the high quality and durability of its products; everything about your MAY Parasol has been designed with sustainability in mind.
- All the materials used have a very long service life. Our fabrics earn top marks when it comes to weather and lightfastness, and the particularly high level of protection provided by a special impregnation.
- The way all MAY Parasols are made aims to allow the option of repair if the worst comes to pass. We guarantee comprehensive and, in terms of time, virtually unlimited availability of spare parts.
- The parasol canopy can be replaced – even just in segments. Click here to read more.
We have been developing, constructing and producing high-quality parasol systems for more than 30 years. Even today, we are still producing replacement canopies for the very first models we made when our company was first founded.
Our assurance: Years of pleasure from your MAY Parasol
As a company that operates sustainably, we are committed to keeping the end of the product’s service life, and therefore disposal as well, in mind when producing our parasols. We also think it is important to inform our customers about how they can join us in taking responsibility, and dispose of MAY Parasols correctly.
Aluminium frames: Perfect for recycling
The frames used for MAY Parasols can be completely disassembled so they can be correctly sorted for recycling. The main material in particular – aluminium – is highly suitable for recycling due to its low melting temperature. This is not about what is called ‘downcycling’ – the recycling of materials that then have a lower quality in comparison to the original quality. Quite the opposite: The aluminium used for our products is as good as new even after being recycled. This allows it to be returned to the materials cycle. This is actually particularly important: After all, the manufacture of aluminium requires, in comparison to steel, a much higher consumption of primary energy; if it is recycled, however, it is a comparatively ‘green’ material.
Correct disposal of the parasol canopy
The MayTex Poly and MayTex Acryl fabrics, which are synthetic textiles, can be disposed of with household rubbish. We are happy to take back MayTex PVC and return it to the materials cycle by means of a special recycling method.
